Dir. Dekel Berenson Nominated for Best Short Film UK | 2020 | 15' Living in war-torn Eastern Ukraine, Anna is an aging single mother who is desperate for a change. Lured by a radio advertisement, she goes to party with a group of American men who are touring the country, searching for love. Nominated for a short Palme d'Or, BIFA award winner for Best British Short Film, was shortlisted for a BAFTA, more than 200 selections and dozens of awards.

Dir. Boubkar Benzabat Nominated for Best Short Comedy France | 2020 | 11' A man goes to the church in order to confess his last sin to an exasperated young priest.

Dir. Vanja Vascarac Nominated for Best Short Film Croatia | 2018 | 24' An elderly woman’s routine is upset by a man claiming to be a TV series location scout.

Dir. Stavros Markoulakis Nominated for Best Shoort Drama Greece | 2020 | 17' After an important surgery, Maria returns to her family home, in order to recover. Living with her mother, her sister and a newborn baby. While Maria’s body starts healing, a deeply hidden desire of hers surfaces. Maria wants to come close to the baby, and this creates a serious threat to the “safety” of the family home.

Dir. Masha Clark Nominated for Best Short Film UK | 2019 | 20' When 11-year-old Dunya decides to accompany her father on his wine delivery route, a chance encounter with her father’s old love confronts her with the mystery of who her father is and more perilously - who he used to be.

Dir. Christos Karteris Nominated for Best Short Doc Greece | 2020 | 14' Teo lives next door. He enjoys isolation. He chooses to live at his own, unique pace. He dreams of finding a person like him.

Dir. Henning Backhaus Nominated for Best Short Comedy Austria | 2020 | 14' Ingbert, the sock, applies for a position as double bass player at the Vienna State Orchestra. Bad idea.

Dir. Michalis Kalopaidis Nominated for Best Animated Short Cyprus | 2020 | 7' The parrot lady' is inspired by a true story. The film works as an artistic interpretation of a woman's life who chose to live on the streets with her parrots, afraid of dying alone in her home.

Dimitris Bavellas
Best Short Film
Dimitris Bavellas was born in Neos Kosmos, Athens. He has studied Film in Greece and the UK and has directed music videos, documentaries, short and feature films.
His second feature film, In the Strange Pursuit of Laura Durand, premiered at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2019 and has screened at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
Maddie Kitchen
Best Short Documentary
Maddie is a social documentary filmmaker and runs the non-profit Sobriety Films UK. Her films have been shown on Channel 4 and ITV Anglia in the UK. ‘How I Got Sober,’ a short doc was premiered at the U.S Reel Recovert Film Festival in LA 2019, screened in New York and London and short listed for World of Women Film Fair Middle East (2020) SING, her second film for SFUK was a finalist at the Reel Recovery Film Festival 2019 in London. She has a degree in television production from Westminster University and learnt her trade at the seminal British broadcasting charity The Media Trust.
Vassilis Kroustallis
Best Animated Short
He is a Greek film and animation professional. He is the Head Editor of Zippy Frames, a leading online international journal on independent animation. He has served as jury member in many animation festivals. He received (2016) the Society for Animation Studies Award for Best Scholarly Article in Animation. His short film scripts The Hotel and Mar(t)y have been awarded at various international competitions, and he recently completed the short film Homespital. He is a voting member of the Annie Awards and a Rotten Tomatoes approved film critic; since 2019, he also works as PÖFF Shorts Animation Programme Director (Estonia).
